Our hearts overflow with thanks to God! We had the trip of our lives last month, celebrating our 25th anniversary. The week after we got back from Mexico, we received news of the date we get Favor! In addition, we had great visits at home with Paul and Amy for a few days before they returned to college. Richie is now back in high school and his team has already played their first football game.
IT DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER ...
We spent the week of Aug. 8-15 in Mexico celebrating our silver anniversary. Among other things, we rode horses in the jungle, went snorkeling, enjoyed a water park, did zip lines, attended a Cirque du Soleil show, and allowed ourselves plenty of time for rest, prayer, reading, swimming in the ocean and taking leisurely walks on the beach. Besides our honeymoon, we both felt it was the trip of our lives.
our first morning, we dutifully sat through a 4-hour timeshare presentation
(which was only supposed to be 90 minutes), but it was well worth it. After we
said “no” in every way imaginable to four different salespeople, they finally
gave us terrific gifts that let us to do everything for free for the week!
FORGET THAT... IT DOES GET BETTER!!!
A week after our trip, we received the news we have been waiting and praying
for a year. The US Embassy in Addis Ababa has set September 23 for our exit
interview, and we can now fly to Ethiopia and bring her home! We can’t wait!
A dear friend will be making the trip with us.
While we are in Ethiopia, MercyWorks is sending a medical team back to Zimbabwe. The team was to have left last month, but had to postpone the trip to the end of September. Our team will conduct medical clinics at a local school, investigate micro-enterprise opportunities, and take part in ministry in churches.
Please pray for the MercyWorks outreach to Zimbabwe as well as for everything to go well with our trip to Ethiopia to bring Favor home.
In closing, thank you for your prayers and support.
We need you!
